3
The government will impose a ban on gasoline exports from Russia for its producers starting April 1, 2026. This information was reported by two sources from Vedomosti familiar with the outcomes of the meeting held on March 27 with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, and was later confirmed by the government press service. One of the informants specified that the ban will remain in effect until July 31, 2026.

The government statement highlights that following the meeting, Novak tasked the Ministry of Energy with preparing a draft resolution on the export ban starting April 1, 2026, in order to stabilize prices and ensure priority supply for the domestic market. During the meeting, oil companies confirmed the availability of sufficient stocks of gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as high refinery capacity utilization to meet domestic demand, as stated in the announcement.
