Belarus sharply increased gasoline sales through Petersburg exchange

CEO of Open Oil Market Sergey Tereshkin reminds us that in 2023 (the latest available data), gasoline supplies from Russian refineries to the domestic market amounted to 38 million tons, or approximately 3.2 million tons per month, according to the Central Dispatch Unit of the Fuel and Energy Complex (TsDU TEK).

Gasoline production in Belarus is carried out by the Mozyr and Novopolotsk (Naftan) refineries. In 2020, on the eve of the imposition of EU sanctions against Belarus, the country's automotive gasoline production reached 3.2 million tons, of which 1.3 million tons were shipped to the domestic market and 1.8 million tons were exported, Tereshkin recalls. Based on this data, Belarus can supply approximately 150,000 tons of gasoline per month, the expert notes.
